Welcome to SCA’s library webpage! My name is Frankie Otis and I am the librarian at Summit.  Our library assistant is Coach Jim Brock. We have a wonderful library at Summit for your child to explore.   Our library has materials for Pre-Kinder to 12th grade with a collection of approximately 7,000 books.  Pre-Kinder to 6th grade students have a weekly library class time in which they learn library skills and check out books for Accelerated Reader points and pleasure reading. Middle school and high school students come at various times to find books for pleasure or class activities and work at the computers.

Our Book Fair will take place the week of November 7th.  Children love coming to the Book Fair and finding new treasures! This fundraiser gives us the ability to purchase new books and materials as well as supporting our software programs.  We need parents to help with all aspects of this fair, from setup and promotion to closing.  We could never do this without you!

We have a new program this year – called Read Tac Toe.  It works something like Tic-Tac-Toe or Bingo.  Each child will have a record page appropriate for their grade level with squares to fill in as they read books.  Squares designate a type of book genre, i.e. fiction, non-fiction, poetry, Caldecott Award book, etc.  Small rewards will be given as they progress towards filling up their page.

Parent volunteers are vital to the library!  We invite you to come by and see our beautiful library!  If you have any questions, please contact us at 512-250-1369 or fotis@summiteagles.org
